DNR confirmed the body of Jackson Croft, 17, of Woodstock, Georgia was found this afternoon.

A search began after the bass boat he recently got was found empty and circling around 5 p.m. on Thursday. This was near JD's on the Lake.

Cherokee County firefighters were able to jump on board, shut off the engine and tow it back to the marina.

They immediately started to search the area. The search efforts were called off at dark and resumed this morning.

Late this afternoon, Croft's body was located and recovered from the water.

 

No PFD no kill switch. This could have been prevented. Wear it!

Prayers going out. He had his whole life ahead of him. So sad.

Kill switch and life jacket while running is key.  So sad for the family and loved ones.
