Delaware river smallmouth

Featured Replies

I frequently fish the Delaware river in the summer months. I typically head north of new hope and wade the area near Hendricks island. I also started kayaking there last year. Wading isn’t as easy as it used to be. I’ve always done well here. I get good numbers but nothing too crazy size wise. I used to get out on the Susquehanna for my fix of big bass but with two kids that’s harder to do now. Anyway I want to explore some new sections of the Delaware for smallmouth. Wading or kayaking. Any suggestions on some good areas to try? This was my best bass out of the Delaware. Back in 2017 on a whopper plopper. IMG_3859.jpeg.e3b3b327e11c8ce61cc95aa29b2993f9.jpeg

Any place you can access the river north of the Trenton Falls will be great for smallmouth.

The easiest place that comes to mind is Washington Crossing Park. Try just above the bridge.

I use too. Not much now. I fish Penn Warner and a few paces in NE PA.
