Missing pre-spawn and looking forward to fall.

Thermocline is just that a fast change in water temperature within a few feet regardless of depth.. Smaller shallower waterways often developed severe thermoclines requiring aeration fountains to mix the water to aid in oxygenation.

I would be surprised if such a shallow pond would have a thermocline but I certainly have been surprised before. I also think that most ponds that have aerators is due to general low oxygen content not due to thermoclines.

Back to the original topic though, I feel lucky to be out here in the PNW where the summer fishing is generally as good as the spring or the fall.

What's your water temp right now?

Water temperatures here in GA have hit 87 and climbing. Summer fishing here is hit or miss for me. This weekend I fished for 4 hours, but it was over 6 pounds and was hiding in the weeds in 15 feet of water. I didn’t even see it on Livescope.

The week before I caught nothing. The few times I found bass on Livescope and put a bait near them I swear they flipped me the fin, turned, and swam off.
