I'm thinking about picking up a Falcon Lowrider Traveler Casting (7'0" 3pc) and was wondering the actual length of the longest of the three sections.  I have a Fishpond Dakota case and it needs to fit in here for carry-on.  Also, was wondering what size guides they use as I will be using 40-50# braid w/ a 30lb flouro leader and do not want undersized guides.  I tried emailing Falcon a week ago and got no reply.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fuji K-series guides are available in a range of sizes, typically from 5.5mm to 50mm.

 

I have no idea what size are on the Travel.  Surely someone here will know what size.

Thanks for the reply.  I'm not so interested in the length of the tube but rather the length of the actual pcs broken down.  Yes, it does have the Fuji K series guides but 5.5-50mm is a huge range.  I'm guessing the guides range from 10 down to 6, with the tip being 5 or 5.5?

Just give Falcon a call, they usually answer and will answer all your questions.

Ok, called Falcon and got the information I needed…..  it’ll fit in my Fishpond Dakota and was told the smallest guide is a #6.  Now, where’s the best place to buy?  Any place offer discounts on Falcon rods?

Generically, no.  Falcon rods don’t go on sale like you see other rods go on sale.  When TW does their site wide sales they are included, but not specifically called out otherwise.  Search around, maybe someone is clearing them or having a sale, but don’t search for ‘falcon rod sale’ because you won’t find it.  

Just order from Falcon directly.
