Your BFS experience
Not sure if it is considered BFS but I have a 6'6" Team Daiwa-X light rod (4-12lb test rating) w/ a Tatula TW 80 reel. Tossing 1/8oz lures (spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, ect.) has been fun this past year. I have read that Gomexus makes a BFS spool specifically for the Tat 80 and was considering it for next season.

SLX XT A reel opinions?
I got a couple nice promotional Daiwa/Simms LS fishing shirts last year when I bought a couple Tatula 100 reels. The 100’s have since been sold and now I own 1 Tatula 80 with another on its way here. The 100 is a very nice reel but the 80 seems to be a better casting reel for lighter lures. Also, the 80 feels a bit better in my hand….

Can I ask where you found the Tatula 80 for $105.00?

Daiwa TW reel profile?
Went out to cast the Tatula 80 and the little dude was screeching every cast! Lubed up the bearing and it went away. I then decided to crack it open and found the inners were bone dry! It's almost as if the reel skipped the lube department in production. I did a full lube including the main shaft bearing (Super Lube), drag washers, main & pinion gears w/ Shimano drag grease and oiled all the bearings..... Much smoother than from the factory. I put it on a Team Daiwa-X 6'6" Light action rod and tossed around a 1/8oz casting plug w/ great success. This will be a nice little setup for the light stuff (Pop-R, Zara Puppy, 1/8oz spinnerbaits, etc). Anyway, I like the reel and plan to use it more often in the future.

Daiwa TW reel profile?
I'm going to spool up the Tatula 80 w/ 12# XL and toss it on one my older Topwater Team Daiwa-S rods and force myself to use it! I'm sure it's one of those things that you eventually get accustomed to.

Daiwa TW reel profile?
I guess it just feels unfamiliar to me. I’ve been through a Tatula 100 and 80 and sold them both. They both performed as they should but just couldn’t agree on the ergonomics. Unfortunately there is not a close Daiwa retailer to me so I bought these reels blindly. I am curious on how the Zillion feels….

Daiwa TW reel profile?
I have owned plenty of great Daiwa casting reels in the past 30 years but just can’t seem to find comfort when palming Daiwa reels w/ the TW option…. Just has a strange feel/profile. Anybody else feel this way? I enjoy Daiwa reels as much as I do Shimano but this has currently changed my mind on Daiwa casting reels. Is the TW technology here to stay for Daiwa?

Latest,Rods & Reels Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I picked up a Tatula 80 for $105 delivered. Going to put it on an older Team Daiwa-X 6’6” ML rod (4-12lb rating) and have a nice light action, 12lb test setup.

Drag Grease Question
Same, I have been using the Shimano drag grease for over 30 years on my drag washers (including Carbon) and main/pinion gears with great success.

I've often wondered about that. Is it the exact same spec as the US version but colored in a dark maroon? I have heard that some of the JDM version reels have different braking, a different alloy of main gear, etc.

Just picked up a brand new Curado 50E and a new Citica 200E reel. I'm a sucker for the E series of reels..... I replaced the smaller factory knobs w/ the larger Shimano 10SSM knobs.

Curado 150 M setup
I bought a 150M a couple weeks ago and the reel casts very well once you find the sweet spot. I have 3 brakes on and the dial set at 4. All I do then is adjust the tension knob based on the lure I am casting and I am running 14# Trilene XL mono. This reel is definitely more adjustment sensitive than my older Chronarch, Curado and Citica E series reels.
