Powerbait MaxScent for Smallies

Featured Replies

I normally don't use them in summer creek clear water situations, as I found them not that effective, but yesterday when the creek water was a bit muddy, holy cow they were biting hard. I had to deal with several cases of deep throat bites. What is your experience with the situations when MaxScent is most effective?

Can't say I use them in murky water, but on the clear reservoirs I fish a drop shot with a Max Scent flat worm have been really good for me.

Murky for me is something that has some vibration to it, paddle tails or colorado blade spinnerbait or an inline spinner.

Max Scent Minnow and Flat Worm are

my go-to baits for smallmouth.  The Max Scent Hit Worm is fantastic for largemouth.

I like to wacky rig and neko rig a maxscent general. I've had many big 3-4lb smallmouth crush a weightless wacky rig while it's floating with the current near laydowns. The flatworm on a drop-shot is deadly.  My secret is a 3 inch max scent meaty chunk threaded into a finesse jig.
