Pro Qualifier Reel Deal

Featured Replies

BPS has a deal in Nashville for last years model Pro Qualifier Baitcast Reel along with an XPS IM8 Rod (MH) for $70. I'm thinking about picking up a couple of these for my 2 sons to learn baitcasting on. It doesn't have the feel of a Curado etc.. but on the other hand they seem pretty decent. The guys will only fish occasionally with me so this seems like it would be good beginner setup. Just seeking opinions or experiences of those that have owned these.

Hey Risk Im practicing on a use BPS Pro Quailifer I bough used and that BPS Extreme Woo Davis rod you gave me and It is perfect for begginers :)

The PQ reels, whether the older version with the centrifugal brake system or the newer ones with the magnetic braking are pretty nice reels for that price along with the rod..

I'm pretty sure I picked up the same baitcast setup at the atlanta spring classic. I love the combo and for $70 bucks marked down from 170 its hard to beat. I got the MH 6'6 rod and on a scale of 1 to 10. I will give it a 9 at least. for the price you can't beat it. I might pick up another one before the sale ends. I just wish they had a ML casting rod.

I picked one up at the Olathe store last week, I have it paired with a BPS Crankin Stick, and I love it so far.  As far as the free rod goes, it is in the corner with the other rods that I haven't found a use for yet.  I got a 6' medium, I guess I could buy another reel and turn it in to a small spinnerbait rod.

The PQ reel I think is pretty sweet, especially for the price.  I don't throw crankbaits that much, but with this set up I am definitely going to give it more of a chance this year.
