Can I post a video?

Featured Replies

Can I post a video from my phone the same way I post a photo?  No fancy camera or gopro or hi tech computer or the skill to use these things.  Just an android phone and me.  Maybe a silly question but I'm asking anyway.  Thank you for your simple answer.

I sure hope the answer is "YES! Here's how:...." because I'd love to see video of you catching bass, Al.

Nope - way to post vids is to upload it to YouTube (or other vid repository) then post a link to it.

Reason? Glenn doesn't have the storage space on his server to hold all the vids people post.

Al, go to YouTube and do a search for "how to upload a video to YouTube." You'll find many videos walking you through all the steps. Good luck! I'd love to see you fishing. @AlabamaSpothunter, being a good guy, used to encourage me to record videos of my fish, but I already feel like this walking through the woods to fish:

Thank you, Katie.  I'll try, but I have low tolerance for repeated "clicking".

Have you ever tried a "lawn cart" to haul your stuff?

The woods are just soooooo rocky. Iowa can have ten feet of topsoil at river bottoms. Maine doesn't always have 10 mm of soil atop the bedrock. Then there are the bowling ball-sized rocks and the Chevy sized boulders. Even if my gear stayed in the cart, they'd be bounced so much that I'd spend five minutes untangling my rods.

@Swamp Girl Katie, I'm working on learning to get a decent video on my phone.  It ain't gonna be easy but I think I can, my practice has been promising.  So my question is why?  It seems to me that a video should be educational and/or entertaining.  Not sure I can provide any learning without coming across as a know it all.  And who wants to watch an old man catch a bass?

Anyway, messing around with this has added another dimension to my fishing so that is kinda fun, outside of the frustration of making mistakes.

I value your thoughts.

Me, ME, ME!!!

Vimeo is probably the easiest. Create an account. Drag and drop the video file. Wait for it to upload and process (use an internet connection, NOT data). Finally post the share link. Don't get me wrong, YouTube is pretty easy as well, but there are a few more steps involved with it's channel dashboard/creator studio interface.
