I have a few question's about Braid.  I use my spinning reels when I pitch and flip.  I'm toying with putting braid on one of them.  First question, is it ok to put braid on a spinning reel?  Second, if so should I leave mono at the base of the spool like on a bait caster?

Ok, I've shown my lack of knowledge enough for now!

    It will be safe to put braid on a spinning reel. I use 20# braid on my spinning outfit. Yes, you want to put a little mono backing on spinning reels as well.

    Yes I go by pulls a pull being 3ft and I pull 33 or about 100ft. You are doing it right just start with 1.
