hey im looking at getting a new rod to use for pitching and flipping jigs, from 1/4 oz up but im on a tight budget and would like to keep it around or under $100 with $140 being the most i can spend. i played around with a kistler H action jig rod and liked it a lot but im not sure if i want to drop $135 for it.  

what rod would you suggest?

Personal preference and budget dictate what rod/mfg you purchase.

But if your doing both I would go with a 7' Med.Hvy. Power, Fast tip action rod.

IMPO I think you would find it tiring to try and pitch with a heavy action rod.

I would look into the shimano crucial line of rods in that price range.

shimano crucial i have the drop shot one but for the money u cant go wrong also has lifetime warranty ;D
