I’ve been shopping for a skipping rod. I thought I would buy a heavy / fast rod in the $100-$150 range so I could skip and throw heavier jigs in cover. There are several I’ve been considering — Falcon Lowrider, TFO Option Bass, Fenwick Eagle, Cashion Element Z2, and BPS Carbonlite. But I’ve seen the Abu Garcia Pro Series “on sale” on their site for $100. What is your opinion about these rigs, specifically the Shane LeHew skipping rod?

I have the Josh Bertrand worm rod, and it’s a pretty solid rod at $100, but wouldn’t go above that.
