Anybody use a Berkley Bionix Rod?

Featured Replies

I bought one at  Walmart several years ago. I still use it now. I am talking about more than 15 years that I have been using it. I’ve caught so many 5 pounders on this rod.  It is the 7’ Bionix crankbait rod. It is a well balanced rod. The guide are double footed all the way. It is rated 1/4-3/4. It handles crankbait up to a 2.5 size so well and better than the Lews KVD series build for the 2.5 size.

I had a friend who loved those rods back in the day. Don't know much about them, other than he would look for them at different places when we were at various tackle shops.

I had or have a spinning version my dad would use.  No complaints.  It was a functional rod that held up well for a Walmart rod.   It had stainless guides but it help up well enough.

Had 2 of their spinning rods, 6' M I believe, broke after about 10 casts, used the warranty new one broke on the same spot after 5 casts. Never used another Berkely rod.

FWIW - Two rods same spot usually means it you, not the rods.😀
