Senko Color - Baby Bass

Featured Replies

I have a Senko mold and I'm trying to make the color Baby Bass.  I can't seem to get it.  Any suggestions?  I'm not sure what color to use as the base.  I've tried Watermelon and Green Pumpkin but they aren't right.

From looking at my baby bass lures I would think starting with a light base, like a cream color, and working from there with different shades of green might look better.  It seems to me that going from light to dark would be better than dark to light.

But I'm just guessing that if this doesn't work, then try that.

There are lots of baby bass variations.  When I make it I use a watermelon base.  I add it a little at a time counting the drops, stirring and watching.  I write down the #of drops.  Then I add small amounts of flake (black, gold and sometimes green).  Keep track of the amount of each color flake.  When I have it the way I want it I make some baits to check it out.

It is a lot easier to add colorant and flake than it is to add plastisol.   I used to have this all written down but it has gotten misplaced.  Sorry

Salt will definitely require a lot more colorant.  I got tired of using it a long time ago and quit.

That site has hundreds of soft plastic recipes.  I hope you get it to turn out the way you want it.
