Seeking Current Market Value for Daiwa Ballistic T3 100HS Reel

Featured Replies

I'm considering selling my Daiwa Ballistic T3 100HS (6.3:1) reel, which I've owned for some time. It's been used only twice and has remained out of my regular rotation, stored safely in its case. The reel is in excellent to good condition, with the exception of a minor nick at the top; otherwise, it shows minimal signs of wear. Why did I get it, cuz it's so different and thought it would look cool but realized that I need some more high ratio gears in 7/8 ratio.

I understand that pricing can vary, and I've noticed listings on eBay with a wide range of prices. Some new or like-new models are listed as I saw one on ebay for $200 and I know people are not going to pay that much.

Since I never had the original box, I anticipate price reduction, I would appreciate any insights or recent sales data to help determine a fair asking price or starting bid price before I post this on some other fishing forum or ebay.

It's a 13-year-old reel.

When new, popularity varied.

Shipping costs have gone up quite a bit recently.

It's worth what someone will pay for it and I think it would be inappropriate

for me to put a price on it as I'm not an interested buyer.

Good Luck with your sale.

I bought one for $50 3 years ago.  Some dudes like the idea of tinkering with them as bfs reels (3D braking) but on the whole, especially the base model, they aren't getting much.

Excellent find.  MSRP was $250 in 2012.  I gave a like new one to my sister-in-law.  I never used it, but I have the T3 1016 and T3 MX 1016 which I like.   Its braking system makes it an excellent reel for a beginner to learn on.

OP, AFAIC $50 for your reel is a ridiculously low price given its condition.  Plenty of guys on here using and loving reels that old and older....including me.  You can always lower the asking price.

There are 279 matches as recent as February in TT Classifieds.

NIB sold for $180.

You're also likely to find the best market for OG Daiwa there.

Yeah, these aren't worth much.  The T3 MX is the base model to get.  The Ballistic isn't well liked.  It's a $50 to $60 reel in that condition.

Thanks folks, this helps me to narrow down what the starting point I should start at.
