Zillion - stuck magnet/cast control

2) I have a zillion that maybe has a sticky inductor? Getting mid-cast fluffing or backlashes even up in the mid-teens setting on the magnet. It's like the reel has gone wild. Managable with thumb but definitely not working right. Manually pulling out the inductor it moves just fine so not totally stuck. But it behaves very differently than the other zillions both JDM and USDM. And I have a second one that kinda felt like it was doing the same thing this weekend, but not nearly as much.

This same reel is now on the other end - appears to be stuck on "20" - cast distance doesn't change at all even with cast control set on zero. What's the procedure to fix this?

Have you checked to see if the ring magnets are still aligned to their match marks?

I haven't - didn't want to start pulling parts out before I checked the collective wisdom. I see a single small screw to the right of the adjustment dial. Take that out, plus looks like the rest of it might be held by tabs or something?

No disassembly required to check the magnet alignment. Just take off the side plate and see what's what. The black marks on the rings should align with the cast-in match marks on the set plate assembly.

Oh thank you I don't think I would have noticed those.  Will report back when I get it in front of me.

If it is '21 Zillion we are talking about here, it's possible that the stock sv boost spool is the culprit. There's this small plastic part under the inductor that could crack after some usage. That's why the aftermarket has this metal part to replace it, but I'm not sure if you can still order it overseas with the tariff going on.

Thanks. Should be an easy test just dropping a different spool in.
