Not familiar with BPS current Fish Eagle, in past they were Fenwick rods.

The handles are short and the powers felt soft.  They could make decent kayak rods.

I bought one for guests in the boat, I had enough points it was basically a free $60 rod and it's built ok and sensitive enough but Academy has had Daiwa Coastal Aird rods for less and i like them better. 

At the current price I definitely wouldn't buy one but like all BPS products they do go on sale. A Pro Qualifier reel and Fish Eagle rod is a good combo when on sale.
