Looking for info on a couple old reels

Featured Replies

I picked these reels up at yard sales over the years.   I'm having trouble finding much info on them.   Most of what I find is ads for the auction site.  I'm not really concerned with value,  just curious about them in general.

Daiwa Millionaire Mini MM1000 and Martin 62 fly reel.

Any info folks can provide would be greatly appreciated!20251113_193159.jpg.1917a929f018650cd41f150370944c6b.jpg

It's sooooo cute!   That's all I got.

The Martin is a classic “tuna can” reel. Simple construction and great to fish on lighter weight rods. Lasts for years. I fished one on a 3wt rod for many years.

Both are modest value.  The Millionaire is more of a curiosity than the earlier medium-frame Millionaire series, 5, 5H, 6, 6H.  E.g., it's not in the league with small-frame Ambassadeur.

Here's the most information you'll find in one place on Milliionaire MM

The Martin Tuna can that will bring more than its original price is MG-3, which has their helical-spring click-pawl.  You can identify MG-3 quickly by its barstock foot.

FFR forum is the archive for Martin reels.  Unfortunately, with AI-bot bandwith theft, they had to block access using Cloudflare, and only allow views by registered members.
