Hunting those brown fish again today

It’s been several days since I’ve been able to get out.  It has been very windy here for a week.  I took my neighbor to our favorite area on Stockton Lake today.  When we arrived there was a light northwest breeze.  As soon as we hit the first place the wind came up and switched to the west .   By the time we finished with it and moved across the lake the wind switched again and came from the south.

As the day moved on the wind kept coming up.  The south wind was roaring and sending 2 1/2 foot roller at us.  The wind switched again to the south west.  We fought the wind all day long.  My long shaft 36 volt trolling motor got a workout today.

The fish were shallow again (2-6’).  The water was in the upper 50s every place we went.  We wound up catching 75 bass today and at least 60 of them were smallmouth.  The best bait of the day was a Ned rig.  A coppertreuse TRD on  3/32 oz midwest finesse jig was the ticket.

I can’t wait to get back.
