My first rod—60 years ago

Featured Replies

I decided to clean up my old rod. Zebco 88, combo rod and reel. My step father gave it to me in 1963. I’m not sure how long he used it before giving it to me. Before that, I used a stick and feed sack twine and fished creeks. I caught a lot of fish on this thing before I retired it and bought a Mitchell 301 left handed spinning reel as a teenager.  Taking it apart brought back some great memories.

Yep. A cane pole would have been an upgrade. Catching horny heads.
