  1. I grind all my venison into burger except for the back straps. Makes for some good eating!
  2. Surely a fat bass would too!!
  3. Near McCoy the Whitethorn area and below the falls are your best access. Much of it is simply too shallow from the bank but you can find a couple of places that are ok. The road near Parrott follows the river. There are a few pull off spots that you can park and fish. Most of it is pretty shallow. It’s good wade fishing in the summer.
  4. Good bank fishing spots are hard to find. McCoy area or Parrott area is your best bet. Wading is good, but be careful. The river is dangerous. Yes they are biting! You might not get the numbers of later on, but the size is much better now. Good luck!
  5. Put a little gas/oil mix in a spray bottle and squirt in each cylinder. That’s what is going to lube it when it starts.
  6. Looked out the kitchen window a couple of days ago and saw this!
  7. I’m left handed too. Years ago I used a fountain pen and changed how I write to keep from smearing the ink. I no longer use a fountain pen but I do make pens. I prefer a roller ball.
  8. I would read less and fish more. There’s lots of info in the forums here. Search for big bass info and go fishing. Time on the water is your friend.
  9. Yep I hope to be there.
  10. Yep. A cane pole would have been an upgrade. Catching horny heads.
  11. I decided to clean up my old rod. Zebco 88, combo rod and reel. My step father gave it to me in 1963. I’m not sure how long he used it before giving it to me. Before that, I used a stick and feed sack twine and fished creeks. I caught a lot of fish on this thing before I retired it and bought a Mitchell 301 left handed spinning reel as a teenager. Taking it apart brought back some great memories.
  12. Yeah I have but it’s been a long time ago. Haven’t seen one in a good while.
  13. I have caught hundreds over the years with that old yellow jitterbug! ‘Course I’ve thrown it thousands of times!
  14. Rocky boots have been the most comfortable boots for me.
  15. Nope, heavy rain and flooding never helps my fishing.
  16. 👍👍One of the best statements I ever heard!!
  17. I wouldn’t be surprised. My other hobby is turning pens!!
  18. We were there to watch him win!
  19. I have a 1998 Silverado I bought new and I have a 2018 Ram 2500 I bought with 14000 miles on it. It doesn’t matter what you buy, they will break down at some point. If you live where they salt the roads, they will rust. Take care of whatever you buy. Wash it once in a while. Drive it like you own it. Ain’t none of them going to last forever.
  20. That’s why I had to special order Mitchell 301 and Mitchell 309. Still have them. I’m left handed and cast left, reel right.
  21. Yep groundhog. Shooting it is a lot easier than trapping it. For trapping I recommend a conibear rather than a live trap.
  22. I’ve got pictures of a 4 pointer in June. I guess there’s always exceptions.
  23. You definitely don’t want to drift under these nasty things sitting in trees. I think they do it on purpose. 💩💩
  24. Jitterbug is dated but I wouldn’t say it’s outdated. It will flat catch ‘em. 🤪👍
