  1. Here is a link to check the water level and flow at Radford: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/va/nwis/uv/?site_no=03171000&PARAmeter_cd=00065,00060
  2. I spoke with him at BPS a couple of months ago. He mentioned that his wife was having some health problems. Seems like a very humble man. I wish him well.
  3. Bass Brat has it right.....you use what you want to use, let other folks use what they want to use. As long as it's legal, both groups can have fun fishing and not argue about it.
  4. Yep, I have probably caught over a dozen cats on crank baits over the years.
  5. Great story. As a teen, I caught my first "worm" bass and many, many more on some of the lakes in East Tennessee.
  6. I would throw everything I have at them, till I found something that works.
  7. Yeah, I fished below the Little River Dam Friday and didn't get any action. Usually get some white bass there this time of year.
  8. The New is still a little high and dingy, but I caught 5 smallmouth this morning, two of them over four pounds. Things are looking good for the next several days.
  9. White bass, probably. Common name for them.
  10. Ugly Stick. Cost is $30.00 or less most places. They are very strong and durable for the money.
  11. Sorry Retired, I am below Claytor Lake, not near Hinton. I have camped near there and fished a little. River was up and muddy yesterday, but a couple of guys were out. Musky fishing I would guess. They were going pretty good before all this high water.
  12. I try to kill every snake that I see.
  13. It was just beginning to be "off color" rather than muddy. I did catch a few last week, but it was still up. I am sure this rain will ruin it again for a few days.
  14. Yeah, you are not kidding. The New is churning. Be several days before it is fishable again. Too bad, cause the muskies were hitting pretty good.
  15. As a kid, we used to fish near Rogersville for stripes (white bass). Do they still run up the river in good numbers, and when do they start? Any good places to bank fish? I know I couldn't find where we used to fish. Thanks.
  16. Just found the site. Looking forward to checking things out.
