  1. Your best bet for smallmouth will be in the river, not the lake. Many places to access the water near Radford and McCoy.
  2. Finally got logged back on after the changes. I think I am going to like it.
  3. Lets play nice, guys. I was before BC, and there was a bunch of plastics then that I didn't care for. Don't mean they are no good. A swap is a swap. You take some, you put some. Try to even it out. It was my first swap and I enjoyed it. Wouldn't mind to do another.
  4. Thanks for the info. I will give it a try and post pics when I am done.
  5. I guess my real question here is: What is the best way to get the old handle off?
  6. I have a rod that needs repair. The nut that holds the reel is broken and won't stay tight. I wouldn't mind trying to replace the handle. Any help/ideas on how to remove the old handle and tips on replacing with a new one? Thanks.
  7. The box is in and on its way to Bassclary.
  8. Had to split the pics up in to two posts. Here are my puts. Hope someone catches some big'uns with it. Thanks again for including me in this.
  9. Got the box today. That thing is packed full! First pic is my takes, second pic is puts. I did change my mind about the small plano box; I put it back in. This has been fun, hope to get in on the next one too. I will get it sent out Thursday.
  10. Below the dam. Actually went hoping to get into some hybrids. I usually catch several in early spring. Didn't have any luck with them, so I started musky fishing.
  11. Went today, no bass but caught a 22 pound musky. Water temps still pretty low to do very well yet.
  12. New River musky, 22 pounds.
  13. I would forget Eggleston, without a boat there is not much there. Several areas in Radford can be fished from the bank. Take a drive up Hazel Hollow Road, but be careful of private property.
  14. Sure, I would like to be included in the lure swap if that is ok.
  15. The numbers might be down just a little from several years ago, but the average size is up.
  16. Caught 17 one day last week. Most fairly small, but 3 or 4 over 15 inches.
  17. I usually start out with a Rapala Husky Jerk, a sinko, a 3" grub and a white spinner bait. I will often start out early in the morning with a topwater prop bait.
  18. Where do you recommend putting the juniors? I "are" a senior and I don't want to be put anywhere.
  19. The Parrot/McCoy area is probably your best bet for wading. Early morning or late evening will be your best time. I don't fly fish, but a friend of mine does. He does pretty well with poppers and streamers. I would use small Rapalas, grubs and senkos. If you don't mind to use live bait, it would be good too.
  20. Senko or Power worm, no weight and very minimal movement. Let it sink slowly.
  21. Parrot area is by far the best location to wade and easiest to get to. Still too cool for me to wade, though. Good luck, and please be careful and mindful of water level. Several people have lost their lives in that area over the years.
