TD Fuego??

Featured Replies

Anyone have an experience with the TD fuego??

I was tinkering with it at cabelas and was really impressed..

Thats next on the tackle agenda just wanted to see how everyone liked it..

I don't have a TD Fuego,

but I do have a TD SOL, and a TD Viento

The Fuego should be a little better than those two, and those two are great reels

So I don't think you will dissapointed.

If you deside to get one, look on e-bay they are going for about $50 less than at the stores. I just picked up 2 TD Vientos for $135 each ( $65 less than in BPS or Cabela's)

One step above the Sol. Better braking system, better for larger baits. Not as comfy to palm as the Sol, but a nice addition to your collection nonetheless. Cant comment on the Viento because I dont have one.

assuming you are talking about the baitcaster, It is a great reel.

It is lightweight but holds a goodly amount of line and is very strong.  This is my "horse em out of the weeds" reel.

Seriously.  considering it's barely over 7 ounces it packs alot of punch.  It is also very smooth but with that classic precision team daiwa feel.

Great reel.

PS I have the lefty version.

Thanks for the replys..

Which reel would give me more bang for my buck..

The fuego?

Or the Viento??

I fish a Fuego and really love it. Lite as a feather and casts like a dream. Super low profile.

I also fish with a TD Advantage Super Tuned. A little heavier but a great real also.

I have the fuego.  It is a nice smooth casting and reeling reel.  What are you planning to use it on?  If you won't be going too heavy an application I would suggest going to the Daiwa Alpha type f.  It is lighter, smoother and it is great for palming.  It is available for $206 shipped from Brooklyn Bills, if he has any in stock.

A few of my fishing buddies has the TD fuego bc reals but they have problems with the drag system.  They say the drag chatters once the reel gets wet or have been used for a while.  But inspite of their complaints, I still see them use it quite often.  ;D

Anyway, I don't know if the reels they got were just a bad batch (if you could say that in reels  :)), but their experience made me decide to get the Viento instead of the Fuego.

I have 2 TD Fuegos. Great reels I love em. I do have big hands and being that they are on the small side I feel sometimes they might slip out of my hand. Other than that they are great reels.

I have serviced a few of the Fuego' It's a really well built reel, you should be served well by this reel.

I think the fuego is a great reel: nice & light, can toss lighter stuff as well as the larger spinners. I think mine may have set on a shelf for a good while, so I'm going to get ready to send it to ReelMech for servicing.
