Any thoughts on the St Croix Premier MH Moderate rod?  I have a 13 Omen Black that's kind of a broom pole I want to replace with something a little softer.  Mostly would just fish squarebills with it.  

I have 2 St Croix Premier spinning rods. M fast, ml fast. Excellent blanks. Actually I find little difference in sensitivity between them and an Avid. I’m guessing you are asking about a bait casting rod. Would be a great sqarebill rod. I would suggest spending a few $$ more and get a Victory 7’2” MHM Power Target Cranker. Will be better balanced, lighter and longer warranty if that matters. I do know the Victory is a great Squarebill rod.

I had the MH fast, the one with the split handle that was a BPS exclusive. It was a broom stick. It was stiff, it didn't have much in the sensitivity department and was too heavy by today's standards. Where it was good, was topwater frogs. It fished more like a heavy. It took a good pull on a fish to bend it. In the end, I sold it. 

If it's the crankbait rod it's softer than a typical Premier MH, I say use it.
