Penn 4300 reel. Rod?

Featured Replies

I am currently fishing a penn 4300ss, on a 5'6'' ugly stick.  I really like the reel, dont really care for the rod.  Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what rod,  i should get and would work well with this reel.

A 6-6 shimano clarus would work good med action and a lifetime warrenty!!

A little more info would help.  Is this a finesse rig for you or just general bass fishing?  I've got one on a 6' Berkley Series One medium action and it's a sweet little outfit.  Very light and sensitive.  Nothing wrong with an Ugly Stik but a Lightning Rod is a nicer rod for under $30.  For $50 or so a Bionix is a good step up if you could find one around.  I like my Falcon Lowriders really well and they can be bought for $70 around here when Academy has a rod riot.  6' or 6 1/2' medium light or medium action is what I'd be looking for.  Good luck, big
