Daiwa Elite P/F problems

Featured Replies

Does anyone use a Daiwa P/F reel?

The black tabs on the spool inductor cup gets stuck either in the seated position or the tabs will hold the spool in working position. This is very irritating. Backlash comes out of nowhere when spool does not operate as it should.

Pick up a can of this at the link below or at your local auto parts retailer. Spray it into the assembly and manually cycle the inductor several times. Repeat if necessary. Doing this will probably solve your problem if the stickiness is due to grime or fines and not a greater mechanical issue.

Thats terrible news. Ive never liked the shape and feel of Tatula frames, but the newer ones feel great in hand. Im hesistant to spend $300 on a Tatula, but the elite P/F looks awesome on paper.

I hope everything works out with the reel. Let us know what happens. TYIA

I tried the Curado DC and just had to switch back. I know there is a new Daiwa P/F model just released but trying to make this one fully functional once again. I’d buy another spool but seems everyone is sold out. I’d I get ticked enough, guess I’ll dish out for the new model
