I still have to push a cotton swab thru my guides to check for any cracks.

drop shot (desperate times...). I toss it out deep and pulled out a PB&J sandwich. I twitch the worm. I take a bite. I look and my line is moving. I slowly pick up slack, feel the fish swimming and set the hook like I'm being filmed. the fish hated it and took off and snapped my line with that sick sound. followed immediately with my, "NOOOOOOOOO!"

it was a strong fish! my index finger got jammed in the process since I didnt have the prefect grip on the rod.

Almight Braid. very new Almight Braid. I'm gonna peel it all off, and buy J-Braid. haha..

could have been a catfish..but I'll never know.. what a day. 3 keepers and the lochness monster bite.

edit: no cracked guides.

I have not had that issue with Almight but I keep reading post like this and I know a few people that have had issues. It's weird. Usually, Sunline is really good with their quality control. Not all their lines are fantastic but at least they are consistent. I also heard they had some recent issues with Sniper. I think they were in the process of changing the formula and there are some in-betweens that got thrown in the mix.

Let us know how the J-braid works out.

I've been fishing it for like 8 years or so. Mostly 20 lb. test. No complaints except for operator error wind knots. And even then those usually come out if I work them long enough, sometimes need to take the spool off (spinning).

J braiding now. It was $12.

No biggie if it sucks. I’ll fall back to 832 if needed.
