Tics

Featured Replies

If you suspect you have been bitten by the Lone Star Tick, or you have unpleasant symptoms after eating red mammalian meat (or dairy), skip the regular doctors. Immediately make an appointment with an allergist. I was having delayed allergic reactions (such as the Lone Star Tick causes with red meat) and the regular doctors were useless. I didn't yet know about Alpha Gal Syndrome or the Lone Star Tick, and the doctors never mentioned it. I made an appointment with an allergist and he immediately tested me for Alpha Gal. Thankfully it came back negative and my allergy turned out to be a medication that my body was having delayed reactions to, but the point is that he knew what the regular doctors didn't and took all precautions. Regular doctors are still often very, very ignorant about all forms of illnesses caused by ticks. Not sure what that's about.
