Need a rod

Featured Replies

To go with a finesse baitcaster I have. Right now the reel is on a 5-1/2 foot casting rod and I throw light crankbaits with it. I would like to put it on a 6-1/2 or 7-0 foot rod and use 1/8 and 1/4 ounce jigs. Does anyone have any ideas for around $100?

Take a look at this St.Croix Premier

Power ML,

tip action Fast,

1 pc.,

Line: 8 - 14,

Lure: 3/16 - 5/8,

rod weight 4.4oz.,

You may also take a look at the Team Daiwa light & Tough series. They are precisely that; light and tough. Around $120. Never seen one on sale. They have a rather large handle, even bigger than the BPS powerhump design, so if you have small hands, you might not like them. I like them, myself.

Cheers.

Take a look at these:

SiC guides, 64 million mod., for $100............not to shabby, I love BPS rods, for the $$ the can't be beat.

I agree about the St. Croix rod. I have a few of them and I love them. Even my buudy like thems and he dosn't own one. He Loves how hey can feel every thing when hes useing my St. Croixs.

The most bang for the buck is a Fenwick HMG GS66M or GS70M (the number being the length in ft/in).  MSR = $119, but they are readily available in the $75 range and they come in 1pc or 2pc models...

what rod would u recommend for drop shotting?

I have an extra shimano sedona 1500, i just need a rod to drop shot but i dont want to spend too much money on it.
