At that price point (about $33, right?), the Abu G Cardinal is going to be tough to beat. I use a 101a on my ul (it's a light action rod with an ultralight lure weight range) rig, and it is sweet.  Just get the right reel size and I think you'll have a sweet set up.

depends if your finness  fishing u can go with a graphite model  101 102  if ur using line 10 lb and up get a 500 Aluminum body just in case u use spinning reels in weeds or wood or latch on to a 10 pounder and he heads for cover

The cardinal is a great reel.  I have two: one for panfish and I use a larger one for catfish.  For the price, they are hard to beat.
