I think the price in the link was in Euros. Maybe I did not look in the right spot.

I'm seeing LVS42HD coming in @ $2,199, and the LVS44 slightly less at $1,999 (USD)

The first thing I saw was up to 20% better imaging. That phrase "up to" is interesting. My guess is that's under certain specific conditions and not overall performance gain.

But I do like the idea of no more black box. On my kayak, that's an important savings on space, weight, extra wiring, and hopefully less amp draw.

But is it worth it for me right now to try and sell my now outdated LVS34 and buy this? Not a chance. I'm sure that I'll end up buying this or the next iteration in the future, but that's probably 2+ years away.

Agree @Kayak Koz. Having my LVS34 for just over a month, no need for me to update at this point in time. I have a shuttle, and mounting the black box on the back was not a problem at all.

Will be interesting to see side-by-side comparisons between the old and new units.

I think if I were a tournament fisherman, I'd be inclined to upgrade to the latest and greatest. I just got ML2, and while it's definitely opened up my eyes to what fish do, it doesn't determine how I fish on a regular basis. I'll wait for ML4 to upgrade!
