What line do you guys like better and why on spinning rods?  My target is 10lb test and will tex. rig.  Currently, I use Trilene XL and may want to try something else.

I don't use a spinning rig a lot, but I have enjoyed it much more since I switched from mono to Power Pro braid.  Eliminates the twist which I hate.  I do use a 3-5 feet mono/flouro leader.

Jim,

Depending on where you fish I have 1 any water and one clear water idea for you.

1. suffix red box- not quite as limp as 2. but I like it better than XL for behavior.  Very managable, good abrasion resistance and strength... all around great line.  After my shoulder surgery, I was forced to use spinning gear for a while... this is what I used for all my 'hard' fishing (t-rigs, jigs, c-rigs) with good success.

2.   spiderwire xxx mono - green box- very well behaved and low memory, go up one size or two, as it's real thin and not super abraison resistant.  One of the clearest monos I have ever seen in the water.  I use this in all the clear water lakes.

Have used both a lot and still bounce back and forth depending on where I'm fishing.

It's hard to beat XL on spinning gear. I 've tried a lot of others, and keep going back to XL. I'm seriously considering going back to XL for all my baitcasters this year. My plastics rods have Transition. One crankbait rod has Sufix Elite and one has Vanish. My spinnerbait rod has Elite. My jerkbait rod has Gamma Flourocarbon. My muskie rods have braid, one Spiderwire and one Powerpro. My frog rod, which I occasionally use for c-rigs, has Silver Thread. My topwater rod has XL, and I have the fewest backlashes and line problems with that setup.

For easy handling, low memory and smooth casting, XL is hard to beat.

Just my fifth of a dimes worth

Cheers,

GK

I will answered for RW on this    Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ulta Soft   #6

I use P-Line CX premiuim for almost everything 8-15lb tests. I do have one rod w/ suffix siege and one with Spiderwire stealth. No line twists, no memory.

I'd certainly consider Original Stren as one of your options.
