Flipping Stick

Featured Replies

Does a 7' Heavy rod make a good flipping rod? I have a 7'6 but it seems a little long.

it depends on your height and what you are comfortable with.i'm 6-1 and fish out of a rowboat a lot.i pitch instead of flip so being in a rowboat i prefer a 6-10 pitching stick.use a 7 footer if it fits you better.

Yea... I am 5'6 and  a 7'6'' seems a little long and heavy. Thanks

i think the question is are you only  flipping with this rod or are you pitching too? if its a flipping only rod, you'll want the length for reach and alittle more distance.  if you pitch more then you flip, i would go with a 7 footer.  i'm 5'7" and i flip with a 8' rod but pitch with a 7 footer.

I am a little under 6' and flip/pitch with 7ft and 6'10"rods for both depending on what/where I am fishing.

Rods over 7' I have looked at never feel right.
