Has roybi gone out of bussiness ??? my buddy had one  long time ago it was really small .If i can remember it was aluminum

Yes and no. Ryobi was purchased by a chain store company in Japan so technically speaking they are not out of business, but you can only purchase Ryobi reels from those stores, technically speaking they are out of the business. Got a couple of Ryobis myself, a spinning Ryobi B2 and a teeny tiny baitcasting Ryobi V-Mag 3.

Is right, the only thing you will see in the US with the Ryobi® name on it is power tools today...
