hello all, I just bought a new quantum shaw grigsby baitcaster. it is an awesome reel. here is my problem though. since i got no paperwork, i have no idea how to remove the bail or lubricate this thing. can anyone help

I lost the paperwork for my quantum accurist, so what i did was searched first on quantum and then on the internet.  Since my reel was 4 or 5 years old quantum didn't have any .PDF files on my reel so i simply searched the internet and found a .PDF of the entire manual for my reel.  If you cant find it online, call quantum.  They would probably be more than willing to send you a manual, or talk to you through it.

I think all you need to do is send Quantum an email or give them a call, if they don't have the PDF the will mail you the manual. The Shaw Grigsby reels are branded for Dick's I am not sure which model it is.

I think the reel may be an Incyte if so click on the size and you will get drawings but I would ask Quantum first

I think Quantum's customer service is top notch and they will point you in the right direction.

I would give them a call....they are terrible answering e-mails.

  I guess I have just been lucky, the last email I sent them was sent at 8:29 AM and I had the reply at 9:49 AM same day. There has been a few times that it took a day or two.

  Regardless of how you contact them I think they will take care of you.

Over the last few years I've adquired a few Quantums, 9 now between spinning and baitcaster so I have used their CS a few times......it is very nice to order parts b/c you do it on-line without interferance.

I'm glad to see that people get their e-mail answered....in my case and over the last 10 years that I've used Quantum reel my mail has been responded less than 50 %, my last from Jan. 07 is still waiting.

What it has happened is that I will never get a Quantum in my collection again .....while Daiwa and other exist.
