i am wondering if i can fix this? i bought a new shimano sahara spinning reel a short time ago. i loved the reel it was on my fav list next to my phluger pres. really smooth. last trip out at some point it starting feeling ruff and grindy also a little harder to reel it. you can also hear it like something just isnt right inside. any idea what makes a spinning reel do this? i love th reel and wanna keep it but i cant use it like this now. ive only used it about 10 times and i barely use my spinning gear. i dont have any receipt for it so i dont even know if theres anything i can do. any help is appreciated.

Take it back for exchange, I'm sure you can work something out with the retailer. In the future, put your receipt in the reel box with the warranty and schematics. If something comes up you will have all your documentation in the original box and easily accessable.

If you can't work out an exchange, most any local tackle shop will be either able to repair it or direct you to someone who can.

You could take off the side plate and see if it's something simple but only after an exchange is refused.
