Purchased Revo S from Bass Pro Shops plus fish pic

Featured Replies

I just purchased a Abu Garcia® Revo S Reel/Bass Pro Shops® Bionic Blade XPS combo from basspro (tough decision between that and the Citca). When they emailed me the shipping info, it turned out it is coming in two separate packages, the rod in one and the reel in the other.  My question is if you have ordered from bass pro before, and they shipped your rod and reel separately: did they both arrive on the same day.  I dont know what i am going to do if one arrives one day and i have to wait another day or two for the other half of my combo.  I mean that is just not right.

Also there is a promotion for a free Abu Garcia Gear bag, if you pay the 10.95 dollars shipping.  I was wondering if anyone has gotten this gearbag and what they have thought of it.  Is it worth the 10.95.

It's not uncommon for rods and reels to come seperate. The rods have to be shipped in a tube and it is hard to get a reel box in there too. My brother in law ordered a rod reel combo about a month ago and both arrived on the same day within a week. I have bought stuff from Cabela's before and it shipped from several distribution centers and they all arrived at different times.

I don't own the Garcia bag but I have seen it and if you need a gear bag it is pretty nice for the price. It seemed to be well made.

Pay the 10.95, I got the bag and it is very nice.  I was thinking it woud be some crappy little bag, but it is so nice, I have used it when fishing in other peoples boats and I can fit 3 Plano 3700 series boxes, my rain suit and my SOSpenders.  I have bought another Revo and my dad wants the other bag so I am going to fill out the rebate with his address.  By the way let us know how you like that rod.

As has been explained to me, rods in tubes are handled differently from regular packages by the shippers.  They can't go down the usual conveyor belts and must be hand carried because of their length. Hence the difference in delivery times.

Yea the carriers get to step on, drop and mutilate the tubes as much as they can for EMPLOYEE FUN DAYS

A couple weeks ago I ordered a combo from BPS early in the morning on a Wednesday.  The rod came on Saturday via USPS (to Western Mass).  The reel and other goodies came on Tuesday via Fedex.  I was surprised that the rod came so quickly.

As expected, there was no helpful tracking on USPS.  However, the tracking for Fedex also showed little information.  Other than showing the Pickup on Thursday, there was no more information until Tuesday AM.

As expected my rod arrived today, and my reel has yet to arrive.  The tracking information on the rod was good, and well there is no tracking information on the reel, so i have no clue were that is.  The BPS Bionic blade rod seems pretty nice.  Has anyone used one of these before.

My reel arrived today, so went fishing with the new setup.  Here are links to pics of the first two fish i caught.  The first one was 4lbs and the second one was 3lbs 8oz, bot were caught on a mocassion colored 10inch culprit worm.  I dont know if you can really tell in the picture, but the second fish has some lesions on its tail fin.
