I want to know how good this reel is? I also don't want suggestions about other higher priced reels.

Opinion: Stay away from graphite frame reels

Well then what reel from bass proshops do you suggest for a budget of $70. It has to be from bps because my two gift cards are for there.

Daiwa Procaster 6+1 ( PR100 H/HL ), much better reel with aluminum frame.

I own one right now. I believe they have it at BPS for 40 bux or so? I like it alot, I find it to be very consistent and great for casting. Good luck w/ your choice.

Look around ebay and google Daiwa procaster-X, i think mine are 103HA's , they have an aluminum frame and cost around $100 bucks when they came out, now you can get them between $20-50 around the web. Have used one with braid for flipping for a while and it hasnt acted up yet. Smooth drag, well made reels, that are a real bargain these days.

I also like the BPS extreme's7:1 geared reels. Had to oil it when i got it and break it in, but its fishs pretty nice now.

You know I've been thinking about trying a Diawa baitcaster and these fit my budget. The graphite frame doesn't scare me that much as I'm not fishing heavy cover and am not catching huge fish typ just 1-3lb LGMB.

I might try the higher end one we'll see.

Is not about you ketchin them munsters my man, it 's about when ***** happens and for some unexplained reason your reel decides to fall from your hands and landing on it 's face on the floor ..... and the reel foot breaks or some other part of the frame breaks. There 's an old say: The Devil knows more for being old than for being the Devil, in other words, been there doen that, guess who had that experience with a graphite frame reel.
