broken rod

Featured Replies

I was doing some night fishing for catfish last night around a boat dock.  I got hit hard and my pole almost went overboard.  luckily I caught the pole, but the fish wrapped me around something and the tip of my rod snapped.  It broke off clean at the second eye.   SO can I still use it, or should I buy another one?

Depending on the rod's main usage, with a broken tip section you can just replace the tip with a tiptop replacement kit and reuse the rod just for cat's. It will change the tip action, if the rod had a fast tip it will change the action to extra fast and so on.

If this rod was one that you used for bass then, I would recommend that you replace the rod.

Unfortunately, it was my bass rod.  Luckily, my buddy was actually using it when it broke so he said he would buy me a new one.   8-)

Well that is good luck, then all you have to do is fix the tip and dedicate the broken one to friends that like to catfish.....

Otherwise, you could just break the rest of the guides off and play swords with it.
