casting rod

Featured Replies

I am looking for a casting rod that is made for deep cranking around the price of 200 dollers. Any suggestions or links would be awsome. thanks

I just bought the Powell 704 CB and have just started to deep crank with it.  It's super light and sensative and with DD22's, it works great.  I don't have any complaints with it so far.  and for 169.99, you still got 30 bucks to blow on cranks.

The Lamiglas SR705R is THE BOMB.

The list price is $230, but you might

find it cheaper is you shop around.

I bought mine for about $160.

This is a glass rod designed by Skeet Reese.

St. Croix Avid AC70HM 7' Heavy power with a moderate action.

Its what I use for almost all cranks...it really doesnt have the characteristics of a normal Heavy power..it seems more like a medium heavy due to its moderation action.

It handles DD22's and Mann's 30+ cranks very well with fatigue taking its time to set in due to its actio n working the bait more than your arm.

Well....you said around...The Loomis crankbait rod retails for $220. I have not fished one yet, but when I was shopping friday, I spent hours looking at the rods I was interested in, including the MH crankbait rod. It feels gooooooood. Check it out.
