i throw a lot of topwater baits, and when i throw a bait that doesn't have a split ring, i use a jig loop. i just recently purchased some very expensive topwater baits, and i will throw them on braid instead of mono. my question: is there a loop knot i can tie using a braided line? some topwater baits that do not have a split ring need a jig loop for that "distinct" sound. i have yet to find a jig loop that works for braid. please help.

Put a split ring on them, it's no big deal.

will that affect the movement of the bait? for example: a big spook, pop r, skitter prop.

It should give the lure a little more action, which is what I assume you are looking for.

I've never tried it on braid, so I can't say if it would work for certain, but you might try a uni-knot end loop.  I tie this on my monofilament when using certain poppers, and I bet it would work with braid.

Better yet, use a duo lock snap. The action for walk the dog lures will actually be easier to perform. Get the smallest duo you can get away with. The other advantage is that you can use the palomar knot. Tie the know to the smaller end of the lock and attach the other end to your bait.
