My local Dicks has the Avids on sale for $99! You might want to check at yours. I understand they are redesigning the Avid, and these are closeouts.

No Avids here either. It's a brand new store and they only had one Premier and one Triumph.

my local dicks had them for $89,   & if you use the $10 coupon you get in the circular or at the store ,  your getting a steal....

i've been checking every day since this post was made and the 5 or 6 avids at the local dicks here are still $159...i'm waiting patiently so I can get my hands on one.  Are they really that good?  I have one premier baitcasting rod - is the avid that much better?

hey josh,are you looking at the price tag on the rod????  my local dicks had them on clearance & the morons they have working there didnt even know it...i found out on this forum & when i went in the store the guy said"st croix are never on sale"so,i had him scan one with his scanner & sure enough ,they rang up for $89 even though the price tag was $159

do yourself a favor & have it scanned..id bet they're clearance price

i called one in dallas becuase the  one close to me isnt done being built yet and they said that they do not have them on sale and that they havent heard of it. NOT COOL :'(
