Haven't been on here in a while - just curious if Berkley's new fluorocarbon is as good as I've been hearing.  It is supposed to have very low memory for a fluorocarbon line.  

Anybody tried it yet?

Thanks for the heads up! If you check some of my previous posts, you'll see I'm one of the very few fans of the Vanish line of fluorocarbon lines on this forum. I've been using it for many years now, with a lot better results and successes than a most here will lead you to believe. Can't wait to give it a whirl  

I used the Trilene Fluorocarbon the last part of this year. I really like it so far. I had one reel with 12#, one with 10# and one with 8#. I was skeptical about carbon on a spinning reel but the 8# performed well.

I'll continue to buy and use it, I see no reason to change.

I tried the 15# test and didn't like it. Perhaps I grabbed a bad spool, or maybe the suppliers truck caught fire. The line had an awful lot of flat spots. It didn't feel good running the line through my fingers and looked clumpy on the reel.

I now have a few hundred yards of leaders for fishing braid.

Not all Fluoro's are created equal, but a lot has to do with how it is put on the reel and such.

I tried two spools of 15lb and found it to be the best Fluorocarbon line I ever tried.  It has great knot strength, low memory, and it is tough as nails.  I will continue to buy it and I would highly recommend it.  

I liked it so much I purchased a 2000yd spool of the 12 and 15lb.  I think it fishes like Sunline FC Sniper with better abrasion resistance.  Awesome stuff...

I used Transition Gold and Red in 8 and 10lb exclusively until I tried the professional grade.  Not a huge fan of the green as I think it's hard to see the line on sunny days especially when you are forced with a green woods as a back drop.  Seems to blend too much.  The clear though is unreal.  Costly but unreal.  If you can't find it the Transition GOLD is a real close second.

I tried Vanish fluoro early in the year and found that it was invisible, had low memory, and was more sensitive than mono. The only problem I had was when I set the hook on a texas-rigged shaky head worm that the hook would not come out of the bait. When I tried setting the hook on mono with the same lure the hookup ratio was a lot greater. Has anyone else had this problem? Are there any other fluorocarbons that can work better when setting the hook?
