St. Croix Makes Reels?

Featured Replies

I don't know if S-C makes them, or if someone makes them for them, but they have been out for at least a little while.

Loomis has made their own fly fishing reels for a long time. Fly fishing is what got Loomis started. They have baitcasters and spinning reels sold under their parent company's name.....SHIMANO.

St. Croix's rep told me about these, they had Diawa make the reels for them.

yeah I know st croix had one that was just like the daiwa capricorn only difference was the thickness of the bail wire and the color as far as i could tell and $10

Well, that makes them worth looking into then :)  I'm going to go have a look.

The round baitcasters are the closest thing you can find to the JDM CVZ ( discontnued ).

I've heard before that these were Daiwa reels. But not from anybody I trusred to know.

Are they really? Not trying to be a smart-azz, I do want to know. I love those discontinued CV series reels from Daiwa, and would like to find some more. Wouldn't bother me a bit if they said St Croix on the side.

Daiwa makes them for StCroix. They are very close to the CVZ with some minor differences like the spool and the knobs, will they perform like the CVZ ? ...... I have no idea.  :-?

Good stuff or junk? (CVZ)

Salmon and Steelhead fishing is what got Gary Loomis to begin building rods  :)
