jig stick ???

Featured Replies

what length rod do you prefer for your jigs ???? 6ft6 or 7ft and why ???

7' MBR844C IMX and 7 1/2' FS905 Flippin Stick. I pitch and cast jigs into real nasty cover and I want to be able to pitch/cast as far as I can accurately. Longer rods help with this. I also want to retrieve the log the bass is wrapped around if I have to, hence the heavy power. JMHO

I like a 7' rod for pitching jigs.  That extra 6" gives me more control when trying to get that extra 10' out of a pitch.  I like closer to an 8' rod for flipping jigs.  A longer rod makes it easier for me to flip and it also helps me on the hooksets in brushy areas.  Seems like I get more hookset power with longer rods.

7' because I can move more line on the hook set faster than with a 6'6" or shorter.....

Tight Lines!!!!!
