Sorry, just showing off : BUT, let me clarify; I only bought ONE Cumara!!!

I ended up getting the Shimano Cumara CUC-X68M, 6"8", 8-14 lb line wt, 1/4-1/2 oz lure wt, medium power, extra fast action.

I checked out all the 6'8" Cumara models the store had, tried the different actions & settled on this one. It seemed to be the perfect action for what I want, a pretty much all around type of rod. Not too whippy like the medium, fast action. That one would make a great crankbait rod, perfect flex & action. The MH models were just stiff & a tad too stiff. Really perfect for worms & jigs. The model I got was right in the middle of flex & action. I would love to get all the different flex & actions, but that's not gonna happen any time soon. So I found one that was right in the middle for what I want to use it for.

Now for the reels on the Cumara....that's the hard choice! I do want to check out the Carrot Stix...if & when they are available at Cabelas.

you cant put a Daiwa on a Shimano!!!

Easily, I would choose the Zillion.  Don't let others tell you you can't put a Daiwa on a Shimano (I have a Bass Pro Reel on a Cabelas XML Rod, and they seem to get along well)

A 100DSV goes quite well on the Cumara.

Another vote for the 101D.

A nice medium powered rod like that deserves a lightweight reel that excels at handling lighter weights. The 101D is it.

Save the 201D for a longer and/or heavier powered rod to balance it out. Plus it will give you added line capacity for heavier presentations.

I'd save the Zillion for a heavier powered rod as well. The mag Z can get a bit cranky with lighter casting weights.

Maybe the 201D for spinnerbaits and buzzbaits as the HEG kicks tail. And the Zillion for jigs, frogs, c-rigs.

Just a thought.

Keep it light and go with the 101D. I use the 100D or TD-Z on mine.

Uh oh................I currently have my Zillion 100SHLA sitting on a Shimano Crucial (CRC-X610H) ;D. Don't worry though, that will change soon though. I'm looking for a St. Croix to put her on .

101D for sure. I held one of the 7' cumaras mated to a core. Unfreakin' believable in hand. the 101D's lighter wight ought to complement the cumara quite well.

I looked at and handled all the Cumara's at Cabelas, and I agree with your choice.  How can you have the same length of handle on the 6'8" and 7'+ rods?  It drives me crazy when manufacturers do that!   The 6'8" feels and balances better (of couse) than the 7'ers, and the XF action felt nice and crisp.  Good luck with it!
