Mod Your Rods

Featured Replies

Does anyone else sand down their handles or anything with their cork grip rods? I do it to my TD-S's to make them feel more like my L/T.

I cut all the guides off my G. Loomis CR724 IMX and spiral wrapped the guides. How's that for a mod?  :P

Thats pretty killer! Ive always wanted to try spiral wrapped but Ive been too engrosed in financing Diawas :P

I did my first mod a little while ago and posted it in the tackle making forum. But I guess I can show it here also. It was my first attempt so I just purchased a 50$ clarus to practice with.

What I did was added an extension handle and split the grip. Then I wrapped it in blue nylon and put some flexcoat on it. Ohh I also balanced the rod and removed that front cork piece.

Here are some of the pictures. Took about 5 hours total but was a lot of fun :P

Really?  The handles are my favorite thing about the TD-S and TD-X rods.

Why would you buy a new rod if the handle needed to be modified?

The choices are many.
