Baitcaster line leveler problem

Featured Replies

I've got a Pflueger Endeavor rod reel combo that I've only had for about 2 months.  Sometimes when I reel it in the line leveling worm drive gets stuck on the left hand side so I end up with more line on that side of the spool.  I have to pull out line and as I reel it back in add pressure to the line pulling it to the right to get the worm drive back on track.  It appears to be clean and free of debris.  Anyone know what might be the problem?  Thanks.

Yeah, remove the pawl cap, then remove the pawl. Clean the pawl, also clean as much as you can of the worm gear.

Re-place the pawl, then re-place the pawl cap and add a good reel oil to the hole in the cap when it runs out that's enough. This should clear the issue of the level wind sticking to one side or the other.

If it doesn't then you will need to have a small shim added to the pawl cap to take up the slack in tolerance. See your local service guys
