Daiwa VIP Smallmouth rods, and the US Reels?

Featured Replies

I was thinking about getting this as a new combo, but wanted a little feedback.

Has anyone heard of, or know anything about the Daiwa VIP Smallie rods?

Any feedback on the US supercaster xl?  Thanks!

Has no one heard anything about these rods???

Or much about the supercaster?

The rods just came out , I doubt if too many people have them. A s for the reels , I don't remember anyone saying anything about them but I'm probably wrong about that.I guess I just wasted your time telling you this dumb crap.

Don't know anything about the rod, but I was one of the first to buy a U.S. Reel. Others have stated that the current models are pretty good. (I think Randall posted a glowing report featuring a DD bass he caught!) However, my experience with the original would prevent me from ever buying another.

Thanks for some imput, the rods appear to be good from the specs, and price.  I'm usually a St Croix guy, but want to look at something different.    I love smallie fishing too, so it seemed like a natural fit (with Champlain, Winnipesaukee and other Northeast Smallmouth lakes).

Any other imput would be appreciated!
