How frequently do you change your line? After every fishing day, every six months or just when you feel like it needs new line? Mike

I like to have around 80 yards of good line on top of backing.

I change mine in the Spring.

In Ike's Classic Patterns video, he states that he changes line every time he goes out on the water. Then again, it's 8lb Vanish, and I'm sure it's free...

I usually change after every 3 days on the water.  If I am fishing around a lot of rocks I'll change every day.  Regardless of wether I am changing line after a day or not, I always cut off the last 5 foot of line before I put the rods up for the day.  Just a habit I got into.

When it feels like I'm about to throw something out of whack trying to cast it 10 to 20 feet. Maybe a little further but you get the point.

Whenever my reels get low.

Mono: every 6 months.

Flouro: every 6 months.

Braid: when there's not enough line left.

I always keep my reels PACKED with line!!! If they're still full i'll use the above.

Depends on how hard I fish

I change my line at the beginning of every year.  The only way I change during the year is if it gets too low on the spool.  I like to keep it pretty well filled.  The other reason would be if the line had a lot of memory and I had to strip a bunch off---leading to the low line scenario as mentioned above.  

If I'm fishing heavy rock areas or pitching to brush I'll check the line for burs or cuts by running it through my fingers after each retrieve and clip it above those points and re-tie throughout the day as well as respooling after that outing. When fishing open water or weeds I just keep an eye on it and run it through my fingers as I feel it neccesary. The last thing I want is to cast a $15 or $20 Lucky Craft and or set the hook on a fish in a tourny and lose it due to frayed line, when a one minute re-tie could have put another fish in the live-well and saved a lure. I'm a bit anal when it comes to cutting and re-tieing due past outings and history having a tendency to repeat itself > ;)

I used to use nothing but mono on almost everything, so i'd change my line out every couple of months.  THis year I am going to try rigging all of my setups (Except swimbait reel and crankbait reel) with braid and a leader of my choice.  Hoping I won't have to change out line that much, and save me money.

The night before every tournament. After the tournament I leave the line on until the next tourny. For braid I go until there isn't enough for a good cast.
